The role is placed in the Knowledge and Method development Support Section within the International Program Department. It requires close collaboration with Thematic Advisors, Program and Portfolio Managers, and Sida Partnership Manager. The main responsibility is the implementation of a comprehensive MEAL system in a multi-country Save the Children child rights and civil society program.
The program is managed through a clear focus on results and the role is central for Save the Children to direct and resource support to country offices and partners who needs it the most.
The MEAL Manager is expected to deliver on a global MEAL plan. In this work it is important to determine appropriate methods and tools across the program cycle, as well as record MEAL-information from baseline to program end. Moreover, to assess, capture and communicate progress as well as challenges to reach goals is important for this role.
ARE YOU OUR NEW COLLEAGUE?
To succeed in the role, we expect applicants to have the following qualifications:
Candidate’s Degree (or higher) in international relations, political science, sociology, or equivalent experience in other relevant area.
At least 4 years of MEAL and programming experience within the international aid sector
Operational and technical experience from implementing MEAL systems in programming within areas Child Rights, Gender Equality, Civil Society Strengthening, and/or Environment & Climate
Experience from development contexts
Experience and implementing results-based management and monitoring systems, including baselines, data collection and analysis
Experience from implementing learning agendas during and from development programs
Experience from qualitative and quantitative evaluation design and data analysis techniques.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
English, verbal and written
Understanding of a Human Rights-based approach and gender and intersectionality
Preferred experiences are:
Master’s Degree in international relations, political science, sociology, or equivalent experience in other relevant area.
Experience from conducting research
Experience from MEAL and results-based management capacity building of professionals
Worked in the countries where Save the Children works
Experience of promoting quality and impact through cross-cutting area: gender equality and intersectionality and environment
Experience from MEAL management in multi-country program
Other languages as Swedish, French and Spanish
Proficiency in relevant data collection and analysis software and digital tools
Personal competencies that are important for the role are: well-strukturerad, results-oriented, analytical, and curious
